So I went to watch Brave at the movie teather today with my parents. After begging 5 minutes to my father he finally bought the tickets, frappes and a crepe. I don’t know what is this hate that my father has for kids’ movies. And I’m a girl! What’s so bad about a 18 years old little girl wanting to see a little girls’ movie? Huh? (Sarcasm x) ).
It’s a mother-daughter story, with clear references from that one place were men wear kilts. My favorite characters were the little brothers. They are simply hilarious and seem to have a good relationship with their sister.
Now, this princess is the most badass princess that I’ve ever seen. That was an obvious fact since the trailers, ‘though. I want to learn archery again, that doesn’t happen every day, I can tell you.
Things I liked were the jokes and those little blu spirits. They are cute, I kept saying “smurfs!” every time they appeared. Things I didn’t like were the ridiculously horrible men. I mean, I wasn’t expecting a Adonis but, jesus, they were a total joke.
Being sincere, the movie doesn’t give you any surprises. At least not enough to say “wow! I didn’t expected this to happen”. It’s very predictable, even the moral is very obvious after some few minutes. The most surprising thing was the mother’s “transformation” and isn’t even that of a big surprise. The ‘thing’ of this movie’s the moral and the story, but only for those who can personally and deeply relate with them. So if you aren’t a mother or a daughter, it won’t be very entertaining.
Yesterday I went to watch Battleship.
It was awesome, I simply loved it. It was also hilarious how they added some details from the board game; like the form of those bombs from the aliens, or the board style map that they used to find the alien ship. Even the ships reminds you the ships that you have in the game.
My favorite part were those scythe wheels. Those could have been I great graphic-gore part, if they had killed any human.
Another interesting part was the aliens’ hostile element system. That made their aimless destruction a little more comprehensive (‘though the discrimination of hostile elements was really messed up). And that’s why I never got to see the scythe wheels dismember anyone. Oh well… Still a very impressive movie. And the alien stuff is awesome. I just hate the marine guy story.
So go watch the bad-ass old-men teach some good stuff to those destroyer’s guys. The ‘armored battleship’ part was the best. Point to their ammo, I said!
